The INGOMA Foundation, a registered Non-Profit Organization with registration number 166-619 NPO, was founded by young people who are actively involved in the gospel music industry.

The foundation serves as the face and voice for the upcoming and independent gospel / Christian music community and is dedicated to exposing, promoting, and celebrating their talent through recognition and awarding them. The INGOMA was conceptualized with the aim of recognizing excellence of these upcoming and independent African musicians.

The INGOMA Foundation is responsible for, amongst others, managing the Annual Independent National Gospel Music Awards, therein referred to as the INGOMAs.

The INGOMA was conceptualized with the aim of recognizing excellence of these upcoming and independent African musicians. The aim of the project is to grow the status associated with this award much like the global recognized and commercial awards.

Our 7 Pillars

The INGOMA Foundation proudly operates within the following 7 pillars:

Empowerment: through our various enablement channels, we empower our targeted artists with leadership, communication, negotiation and self-management skills, product augmentation, resourcing and capacity building to ensure they sustain their careers and relationships

Media Training: we provide guidance on how our targeted artists maximize their relationships within the media industry. The ability to align their product(s) with the vision of each media channel they work with and also provide media grooming and how to manage interviews effectively.

Social Media strategy: provide training on how to maximize various and key social media platforms to drive fan centric programmes.

Entrepreneurship: help our targeted artists to run their careers as a business and how to sustain it beyond the singing.
Awards Ceremony: host awards each year to honour the identified and unknown talent and providing advisory services to other awards in Africa.

Advisory services: provide legal assistance and ensure nobody takes our targeted artists for a ride.
Coaching and Mentoring: partner with our targeted artists by providing strategic advice to ensure their lives don’t fall apart behind closed doors

Create platforms to showcase the identified talent.

Purpose

The INGOMA will include gospel musicians, community print (newspapers and magazines) and broadcasting (radio and TV) individuals from all the nine (9) provinces of South Africa. Participation in the INGOMA is on the principle of inclusivity and peer-to-peer recognition.

The overall objective of the INGOMA is to encourage all upcoming and independent artists to go beyond the call of duty and produce music that meets the highest standard and to also recognize their hard work.

Objectives of the INGOMA

Reward and recognize excellence in the gospel music industry i.e. musicians, comedians, print and electronic media personalities;
To encourage upcoming and independent gospel musicians to go beyond the call of duty and produce music and content that meets the highest standard and to also recognize their hard work;
To promote professionalism in the gospel music industry and build capacity in the respective areas of focus;
To contribute to the growth and development of the South African gospel music industry.
